Why our background matters
Retirement planning is not just about projections.
It requires judgment across markets, portfolio construction, taxes, liquidity, behavior, and the decisions families face when life changes.
We bring an institutional investment background to personal financial planning — helping clients understand not just what they own, but how each part of their financial life should work together.
The result is a more complete view of retirement: income, investments, taxes, risk, legacy, and real-life decision-making connected into one coordinated plan.
Scott Frank, CAIA™, CPWA®
Scott spent two decades on the institutional investment side of the business — analyzing hedge funds for a global fund-of-funds and a single family office, researching emerging hedge fund managers, raising capital for funds and private equity, and chairing an equity fund company board. His job was to decide which strategies were real and which were well-marketed.
He does the same job now, for families. Planning gets the same treatment. Five rules, worked in order, that hold up across nearly every situation he’s seen — retirement, widowhood, a liquidity event, a career that ends early — each one basic enough to check on a single page. Rules that survive every situation tend to be simple ones.
The portfolio follows from that. A handful of transparent holdings — simple because it's what survived the screening, not because the screening was skipped.
Having spent much of his career in New York and London, he now resides in Arizona.
